Hello Whatthetech. I don't imagine I have a virus or anything too too serious (though I may be completly wrong)
But I haven't been able to download anything from adobe and I see a lot of internet explorer popups flashing on my screen. I try to locate anything mysterious in my processes but there are just so many. Anything I need to delete off this log?
You're all always a big help to me. Thanks.

Hi and Welcome,

NOTE:
  • Malware removal is NOT instantaneous, most infections require several courses of action to completely eradicate.
  • Absence of symptoms does not always mean the computer is clean
  • Kindly follow my instructions in the order posted.
  • Please DO NOT run any scans or fix items without my direction.

Please do the following:

NEXT

Please download DDS from either of these links

LINK 1
LINK 2

and save it to your desktop.
  • Disable any script blocking protection
  • Double click dds.pif to run the tool.
  • When done, two DDS.txt's will open.
  • Save both reports to your desktop.

Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here or here.
  • Extract the contents of the zipped file to desktop.
  • Double click GMER.exe. If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent .
  • If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan…click on NO.

    [external image: Posted Image]
    Click the image to enlarge it
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Uncheck the following …
    • Sections
    • IAT/EAT
    • Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
  • Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file which cannot be uploaded to your post.
  • Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop, and post it in your next reply.

**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<— ROOKIT" entries
Also some forgotten issues i am encountering are Internet explorer opening on it's own again and again in quick succession so that by the time i open task manager to stop it there will be 30+ windows. I cannot watch DIVX without the broswer shutting down, and the myspace music player no longer works. Files Attatched Thankyou
Hi,

Please do the following:

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

* IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

[external image: Posted Image]

  • Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

[external image: Posted Image]

  • Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.
Notes:
1. Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. Do not "re-run" Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now
OK. So my combofix log has been attatched
I see how many Zango files were deleted and I'm shocked because I thought I had already deleted the traces of that program.
My internet browsing has been noticeably sped up.
I've tried using gmail. facebook, and adobe's download system and adobe is the only one still not running smoothly. That maybe end up being a system error though. No signs of pop ups as of yet, and wow Facebook is working 100% and my gmail opens up without using html view so that's great.

So Good so far What the tech.

Hi,

Please do the following:

  • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before following the steps below.
  • They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
Copy/paste the text inside the Codebox below into notepad:

Here's how to do that:
Click Start > Run type Notepad click OK.
This will open an empty notepad file:

Copy all the text inside of the code box - Press Ctrl+C (or right click on the highlighted section and choose 'copy')

http://forums.whatthetech.com/Java_activex_downloads_no_longer_working_Too_many_processes_running_t105830.html&view=findpost&p=587235#entry587235

KillAll::

Collect::
c:\windows\system32\emiosse.exe
c:\windows\system32\oqstv.tmp
c:\windows\system32\fvu.dll
c:\windows\system32\drivers\21116528.sys
c:\windows\system32\drivers\60c6d6e8.sys

Registry::
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad]
"odSJrO"=-

Driver::
21116528
60c6d6e8

DDS::
IE: &Search - http://speedbar.myway.com/menusearch.html?p=MG2

Now paste the copied text into the open notepad - press CTRL+V (or right click and choose 'paste')

Save this file to your desktop, Save this as "CFScript"

Here's how to do that:

1.Click File;
2.Click Save As… Change the directory to your desktop;
3.Change the Save as type to "All Files";
4.Type in the file name: CFScript
5.Click Save …

[external image: Posted Image]
  • Referring to the screenshot above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe.
  • ComboFix will now run a scan on your system. It may reboot your system when it finishes. This is normal.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
  • Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

CAUTION: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

**Note**
When CF finishes running, the ComboFix log will open along with a message box–do not be alarmed. With the above script, ComboFix will capture files to submit for analysis.
  • Ensure you are connected to the internet and click OK on the message box.

  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. <– very important
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Go here to run an online scanner from ESET.
  • Note: You will need to use Internet explorer for this scan
  • Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan
  • Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
  • Click Start
  • When asked, allow the activeX control to install
  • Click Start
  • Make sure that the option Remove found threats is unticked and the Scan Archives option is ticked.
  • Click on Advanced Settings, ensure the options Scan for potentially unwanted applications, Scan for potentially unsafe applications, and Enable Anti-Stealth Technology are ticked.
  • Click Scan
  • Wait for the scan to finish
  • Use notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\Eset\Eset Online Scanner\log.txt
  • Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic and also let me know how things are now.
Web browsing is still running smoothly. And I haven't had any pop ups today. Starting up is even taking less time.

Hi

Those are some unusual results coming up.

I'd like to get another opinion.

Please do the following:

  • Make sure to use Internet Explorer for this
  • Please go to VirSCAN.org FREE on-line scan service
  • Copy and paste the following file path into the "Suspicious files to scan" box on the top of the page:

    C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe

  • Click on the Upload button
  • If a pop-up appears saying the file has been scanned already, please select the ReScan button.
  • Once the Scan is completed, click on the "Copy to Clipboard" button. This will copy the link of the report into the Clipboard.
  • Paste the contents of the Clipboard in your next reply.

Please do the same for the following files:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe

Is there anything that happened between running ComboFix the first time and running it with the script I gave you the second time.

Did you download any programs, visit any dodgy sites? as now your computer is infected with a patching virus in your core files. It wasn't the first time that ComboFix was run?

We need to find replacement files. I'm not certain this computer can be saved. Do you have an installation disk?

Please do the following:

Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
Download Mirror #1
Download Mirror #2

  • Double-click SystemLook.exe to run it.
  • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield:

    :filefind
    *lsass*
    *services*
    *svchost*
    *winlogon*
  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt
Between the first time I ran Combofix and the second time with the code Something i did take note of was that explorer crashed after the second combofix run, i just re initiated it using 'run'. I looked at my processes and there were 79 running which is more than usual, my average is 63. I did very little at all on the internet. I checked my email, facebook, and myspace. However the second time i noticed an increased strain on the system. As of right now i'm working in a PhotoStudio software and its crashing more frequently then ever. These scans you are having me do on eset and virscan, they're showing so many infectious files shouldn't i be deleting some of them? I have my files backed up on a portable drive, but if this system does go it's for good. An ongoing issue i've had this year is that when i restart the computer it won't actually set up unless I take out the cables first and make sure the fans are free of dust. It's been this way since somehow my computer was hijacked in a sense. My internet provider halted our service because someone was using my IP to send out spam emails and there had been a complaint. They computer appears to be running well right now so I'm going to take this opportunity to back up my more recent documents on the portable drive. This computer also has no instillation disc.

File::
K:\My Documents\My Music\music\CorelDraw X4 inc Keygen\CorelDraw X4 Keygen.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\796cc93d.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\W5UFG1IR\aasuper3[1].htm
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\OLQFSHUF\aasuper1[1].htm
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\OL6BW1UB\warning[1].gif
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\CL6VS5QN\aasuper2[1].htm
C:\WINDOWS\system32\hgjbufkg.exe

FCopy::
c:\windows\$hf_mig$\KB938828\SP2QFE\explorer.exe | c:\windows\explorer.exe
c:\windows\$hf_mig$\KB896423\SP2QFE\spoolsv.exe | c:\windows\system32\spoolsv.exe
C:\I386\LSASS.EX_ | C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe
C:\I386\SVCHOST.EX_ | C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe
C:\I386\WINLOGON.EX_ | c:\windows\system32\winlogon.exe
C:\I386\SERVICES.EX_ | C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe

Now paste the copied text into the open notepad - press CTRL+V (or right click and choose 'paste')

Save this file to your desktop, Save this as "CFScript"

Here's how to do that:

1.Click File;
2.Click Save As… Change the directory to your desktop;
3.Change the Save as type to "All Files";
4.Type in the file name: CFScript
5.Click Save …
