Kaos,
I've just this minute joined, so don't want to offend anyone but…….
Antivirus - all for free
Avast, Avira, Avg
I used to like avg in the old days but for me it became memory consuming and help was non existant.
Avast is the one for me (don't know too much about Avira)
Malware -
Malwarebyte (MBAM) and SuperAntiSpyware (SAS) are dayam good programs, both are free. You must remember however that if you install them, before you run them, you must click on the "update" tab to get the latest updates.
Also check out SpyWareBlaster
Sorry, no links to any of these as l don't know yet how other forum members will react to my answering this post?

Hello,
I recommend you REMOVED LDT as an anti spyware to protect your system. It is an effective solution to find and remove malware infections present on your PC. It also provides protection shields against malware threats. It is extremely light on system resources, Which makes it better.

Please do not suggest programs unless you know there are legit.
Examples:
Found" 112 malicious entries (?), after user had cleaned system with 10 other freewares in a week, would not remove any unless buying paid program. Does that sound like honesty, and it is not NOT freeware.
The free version of this program acts like a virus. Even after using Windows uninstall program it runs a scan automatically in the background hour or so, then lets you know that you have to buy it to get rid of some errors. You are trapped in a loop. Pressing the X for close only loops you back to buy.
