problem with recycler

Hi ALL, Hope some one out there can help me ? ive a small prob all of a sudden if i double click on any of my hard drives in my computer they no longer open just give me the message " windows cant find recyclers \5-4-8-63-100010688-100003219-100007990-5561.com i can open them by using explore but not by double clicking any more . its not a major just annoying . is there a quick fix ? and how do i stop it from doing again . ive obviously pressed something wrong . Hi philcamera. Almost sure to be a malware infection.

Check the root of your C: drive for a autorun.inf file. Quite likely malware put one there and it pointed to some executable that it hid in your recycle bin, which has since been deleted.

You may still be infected though, so please go to the HijackThis™ Logs and Infections Removal forum, read the info there and follow the posted directions. Once you receive a clean bill of health, come back here if you have any additional questions or concerns or it turns out not to be a malware problem.

thanks Ztrucker, hope i havnt ,id find it unusual as its an edit suite and a internet virgin ,ie it never gets connected to the net if anything goes on it i virus scan it first . but hey ho you never know . Ive put it up now where you suggested thanks very much. regards phil c
