This problem is getting worse, infact it has done this twice already whilst trying to write this!
The PC is a Hewlett Packard, Pavillion media centre, running off Windows XP version 2002. with 1GB Ram.

I can be using any application, internet msn, email, gaming, and even Microsoft Office Word, and within seconds off using the keyboard the system creates a new tab with a header to:sign into Yahoo and address:
http://login.yahoo.com/config/mail?&.src=ym&intl=uk

This carries on and I get a whole row of tabs for Yahoo sign in, there are 6 there now from starting to do this.

We had this problem about 8 months ago, I ran Hijack this, and didnt do anything with the logfile, but the problem disapeared, it's come back again now, making it impossible to work on the keyboard. 7 Tabs now!

I have followed Doug's instructions on this link and found no error in my settings. http://forums.whatthetech.com/Cannot_use_a…on_t101711.html

This line unfortunately indicates that a backdoor infection is, or has been, active on your system - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/f….exe-24681.html As a result of this, an individual can exercise the same control over your system as you can, but s/he doesn't need to be sat in front of it to do so.
As there is no way to know what malicious files may have been dropped, legitimate files infected or replaced, and security settings altered to make reinfection more likely in future, the best advice I can offer you is to back-up any important data and reformat and reinstall the Operating System.
I suggest if you have used the PC for internet shopping or banking that you monitor any cards and accounts to ensure that you don't lose any money. I would also use another PC to change any passwords that you use, just to be on the safe side.
hello Noviciate, thanks for the help, just on the line: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows UDP Control Center] fxsteller.exe Can I remove this line from the system after running the Hijack this scan? I am considering reinstalling the operating system.Could this be the reason the keyboard keeps launching yahoo email when typing, or is that a completely different issue that be can be solved by replacing with a new keyboard? Your thoughts please.

Can I remove this line from the system after running the Hijack this scan?

It won't hurt to do so, but it may not have any positive effects.

I am considering reinstalling the operating system.

I would do so as a matter of course.

Could this be the reason the keyboard keeps launching yahoo email when typing, or is that a completely different issue that be can be solved by replacing with a new keyboard?

I don't know. The fact that the Operating System has been compromised tells me that you should reformat and reinstall. If after doing so you find that the yahoo email issues is resolved, all well and good. If not, you will need to look elsewhere for the solution. I doubt that the keyboard is to blame, but I never rule anything out where computers are concerned.

Look at it like cutting your toes off and worrying about your socks because they've got blood on them. Fix the foot and then worry about the socks.
