Hi. I've recently got help with cleaning my system from keyloggers etc, and I got suggested to turn here with another problem. Winamp, Mozilla Firefox and Windows Live Messenger crashes sometimes. Those are the only three programs that crashes. Not often, though more often than any other program on my computer. Here is the other topic concerning my keyloggers, with logs that you might need. It isn't really a big problem all in all.
  • Mozilla: It is sometimes really annoying, since I try to start over and over again, but it never shows up. But, it starts a process for everytime I try to start it. Even if I stop all those processes that I've might have started, it doesn't start. This happens sometimes even if it haven't crashed recently.
  • Winamp: It just stops playing the music. Then a window pops up saying something like this "Winamp has run into a problem and must becouse of that terminate". But when that happens, it's just to start it again, without any difficulties.
  • Windows Live Messenger: It just stop sending the messages I write to the reciever, and suddenly a window pops up with an errorcode with some numbers, 95772209 something like this, no information about them, though with a link to a site, supposed to help me out. But its still just numbers in my head, and haven't helped me out so far. And of course some text, pretty much the same as the Winamp one.
The reason I'm posting this here, is becouse Tomk in my other help-topic, told me to look those up, just in case.
Hi gavexor,

My first suggestion would be to uninstall then reinstall these programs.

The previous processes you have gone through might have corrupted some files for these programs.

Especially the "startup | no show" is a symptom of a conflict between Windows and the specific program which reinstalling or repairing will often remedy.

Go to start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs

Click on the problem entries and choose Remove. If given an option to Repair choose that otherwise Remove.

After removal reboot (restart) your computer then try a fresh install of these programs.

…………………….

On another tack if you wish you can try to pin down errors in your Event Viewer:

Event Viewer
————————————————–
Check your Event Viewer via Administrative Tools.

Open the System as well as Application tabs and look for red X errors that coincide with your problem. Details here:

How to view and manage event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP

Basic information on Event Viewer errors can be found here: EventID.Net

Let us know how it goes.
I'm sorry for the long time I haven't answered, but I've been busy lately. Well, I've done following:
  • Mozilla: Had to remove it, and install again.
  • Winamp: Just realized that a new version was available, I'm gonna download this.
  • Windows Live Messenger: The option to repair the program was available, so I did pick that rather than uninstall and install.
So far none of those has crashed, and I hope they keep this behaviour.
Thanks once again.
