i guess it came up automaticly the icon is a yellow shied with a ! in it i just now went to control panel and clicked the Windows update on the left and it says New get microsoft updates today and choice of express or custom

I have downloaded sp3 ,but i think i downloaded and installed 2 times. still very slow but a little faster. on task manger proformance tab CPU is running at 100% all the time. my IT guy installed Nortons 03 and i am removing it right now that is the only thing that i can see that is running all the time (and i dont like Norton anyways) any other ideas. also how do i remove one sp3 if i did 2 times

I concur with getting rid of Norton.
If two instances of SP3 were installed they should show under Add or Remove Programs. Make sure the box "Show Updates" is clicked.
