Welcome to the Forums.

The fixes we will use are specific to your problems and should only be used for this issue on this machine.

Please only use this topic to reply to. Do not start another thread.
If any other issues arise let me know.
The process is not instant.
Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine is clear.
Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
So lets do this to the end!

  • Save and quit any work your doing before beginning the fix.
  • All hijackthis logs I ask for should be done in normal mode ( not safe mode)
  • These logs should be done last after you have followed my instructions in the previous post.
  • DO NOT be installing new programs while you run Hijackthis.
  • If I do not hear from you in 5 days from my last post this topic will be closed.

Please if you decide to seek help at another forum let us know. There is a shortage of helpers and tying 2 of us up is a waste of time.
If you have any questions about any advice given here please STOP and ask!

Adobe Acrobat Reader update

You are using an older vulnerable version of the FREE Adobe Acrobat Reader (8.0). Please go here to download Adobe Acrobat Reader 9…

When you have finished installing the Acrobat Reader, please go to Add/Remove Programs and verify that there are no versions listed other than Acrobat Reader 8. If you find older versions, remove them.

When finished, reboot your computer.

I have no other issues that I'm aware of unless you spot anything that would help this old dog PC speed up!

_________________________________
You can run HJT and fix these lines to help speed start up and the overall performance of your computer.
All that is done by fixing these lines is the program isn't automatically run when the computer is started.
Some of them are resource hogs and shouldn't be running unless your specifically using them.
This will help some but it won't be any miracle sure. Do not fix any other lines as some things MUST run at sartup so your computer runs properly.

hkcmd.exe
________________________________________________
hkcmd.exe (Intel 810 and 815 chipset graphic drivers) process can be removed to free up resources without compromising system performance.
Installed by the Intel 810 and 815 chipset graphic drivers. If you want the Ctrl+Alt+F12 or similar key presses to access Intel's customized graphics properties, you need it,
otherwise not. Can be disabled via the Display Properties in Control Panel. This is a valid program. Whether or not you need to run this program on startup must be decided by you.
If you feel that you want this program starting automatically so that you have it available as needed, then do not disable it. This program is not required to start automatically as
you can start it manually if you need it. It is advised that you disable this program so that it does not take up necessary resources. Many users have reported this process slows their boot time.
It may be worthwhile to fix it with HijackThis. Item(s) to fix in HijackThis

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HotKeysCmds] C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe

jusched.exe
_____________________________________
You have jusched.exe running at Startup. It checks with Sun's Java updates site to see if newer Java versions are available.
This program is not required to start automatically. You can do this manually by visiting http://java.sun.com or just run the Java Plug-In Control Panel.
It is advised that you disable this program so that it does not take up necessary resources.
It may be worthwhile to fix it with HijackThis. This is the item to fix in HijackThis:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe"

iTunesHelper.exe
____________________________________
You have iTunesHelper.exe running at Startup. iTunesHelper.exe is a process belonging to Itunes
MP3 streaming tool by Apple which allows you to play MP3's. This process speeds up iTunes when it starts, and the program also monitors
for connected iPod devices. This program is not required to start automatically as you can start it manually if you need it.
It is advised that you disable this program so that it does not take up necessary resources.
It may be worthwhile to fix it with HijackThis. Item(s) to fix in HijackThis:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iTunesHelper] "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe"

GoogleUpdaterService.exe (Google Updater) process can be removed to free up resources without compromising system performance. Used to update Google programs such as Google Toolbar. This is a valid program but it is not required to start automatically as you can start it manually if you need it. It is advised that you disable this program so that it does not take up necessary resources. To change the service to Manual or Disable.
  • Right-click on My Computer and choose Manage.
  • Expand the Services and Applications section and click on Services.
  • On the right-side of the screen, find the entry for Google Updater Service and double-click on it.
  • Change the Startup Type: to Manual or Disable.
  • Hit the OK button and close the Computer Management screen.
Many users have reported this process slows their boot time. It may be worthwhile to fix it with HijackThis. Item(s) to fix in HijackThis:

O23 - Service: Google Updater Service (gusvc) - Google - C:\Program Files\Google\Common\Google Updater\GoogleUpdaterService.exe

_______________________________________
So many people are point and click crazy either because there naive or their in a rush.

Always watch closely to any software your installing.
If they want to install something more than their program stop right there and investigate what it is they want to place on your computer.
If they give you the option not to install it choose that until you investigate it completely.
The more you install that you don't want or need the more you'll wish you didn't.

Also it is not mandatory that every program you install starts at start up. Most software has a setting while your installing it or in a setting s area once installed
to check or uncheck so it doesn't start at startup. Also a majority have it set to run at start up.
Always be sure your Anti Virus and any other protection software IS running at start up.

From time to time take a look at your installed programs list. (add/remove programs) make sure nothing has slipped through the cracks that you didn't install yourself.
