I am running Vista Home edition on an HP Pavilion a6452f PC I was having issues with Firefox and a website I frequently visit that uses flash. I had just updated flash 2 days ago and thought that maybe the newest version wasn't compatible with the site. I decided to do a system restore back 3 days to before I did the upgrade. Windows did the normal things and rebooted my computer. After the "Windows Loading" screen my screen goes black with a white arrow cursor in the middle. If I leave it long enough the Windows default screen saver comes on (which I don't have turned on in Windows) Things I tried: 1. F8 at boot screen to go to last know good configuration. It does the same thing 2. F8 at boot screen to go to Repair option. When I click on Windows Restore it says that it is already running. The store technician where we purchased it told me to do the above things. He said if these don't work than I most likely will have to recover the system completely. I would like to try and avoid that as we were never able to get an extrernal drive to back up files. Thank you in advance for any help
