Hello,
I haven't run a HijackThis scan in a long while and yesterday decided to do it on a whim. There are a few questionable items I'd like advice about, namely:
04 - Global Startup: $McRebootA5E6DEAA56$.lnk = ?
020 - AppInit_DLLs: C:\WINDOWS\system32\guard32.dll
023 - Service: McAfee Application Installer Cleanup (0072701233415804) (0072701233415804mcinstcleanup) - Unknown owner - etc.
I googled these - the 04 item didn't appear with any helpful info; I just noticed that often, in place of the "?" there was something about cmd.exe. The 020 may have something to do with Comodo, which is my firewall. The 023 may just be a remnant of McAfee SiteAdvisor, which I recently removed from this computer.
I've run Kaspersky Online scan, F-Secure Online scan, F-Secure Blacklight, Avira Antivir, and Malwarebytes Anti-malware, all which revealed no infections. F-secure did indicate it couldn't scan thye following files:
Files not scanned:
* C:\PAGEFILE.SYS
* C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\DEFAULT
* C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SAM
* C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SECURITY
* C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SOFTWARE
* C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
Thanks in advance for any help you can give. I know I'm behind on Windows and Java updates, but would like to make sure the computer is infection-free before doing anything requiring a reboot, if that's possible. Thanks. Also, any reason wuauclt appears twice in Running Processes?
