No…..no errors, no trojans, no nothing since i put in that avast.

now can you tell from this log if I have too much junk i don't need, like all the programs i installed….adaware, spybot, spyware blaster, threat fire…do I need those now that I have avast and zone alarm???? can i get rid of some of those…i got rid of the scotty dog program when i put in the zone alarm and threat fire

You've got a pretty good layered protection going on there. I'd say that you can do without Adaware. If you wanted you could probably live without the Spybot but if it's not bothering you, then I'd keep it.

Once you've made those adjustments. Then let's get a restore point set for today when you know things are running good. That way you will know you have a clean point to restore to if something should happen.

You need to create a new Clean restore point.
Click Start Menu > Run > copy and paste

%SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe

Press OK. Choose Create a Restore Point then click Next. Name it (something you'll remember) and click Create, when the confirmation screen shows the restore point has been created click Close.

That's pretty much all I have for you unless you have some other questions.

However, I believe that you owe me a poem before I close this thread. :popcorn:

so how will i find this restore point? huh? huh? will i go to run and type in restore point? don't you be laughing at me now…. these things just aren't as apparent to me as they are to you!!!! Ok, I got me a restore point. (sigh) ….the painters were here all day and it is now going to rain….. darn it….. ok…poem about tonite and hoping the moon comes back…. Moon if you'll come back tonight I'll dance with you and Honey if you're lucky I'll dance with you too and if I love you I'll make you cookies with chips (not chocolate) but butterscotch - warm woozy and if you don't like cookies I'll make you a cake (not chocolate) but rum rich - calypso boozy and if you won't dance with me in the moonlight I'm just gonna sit by myself under the moon until i dissolve into a poem night sweetie…… may moonbeams silver your dreams :wavey:

If you should ever have to go back to a restore point, you would do that as follows:
  • Click Start in the lower left of your screen.
  • Select All Programs.
  • Select Accessories.
  • Select System Tools.
  • Click System Restore.
  • Click on Restore my computer to an earlier time and then click Next
  • You will then be able to choose from saved restore points

If you ever have to do this and don't remember how, we will be here to help. :D
