If you go to your Web Browser options you can tell it where to save your downloaded files to,  but by default it should go to File Explorer then Downloads for Win 10 as with all other versions,  there is no Tweaking you just tell it where you want it to download to and can direct it to your way,  Windows does not own you,  you own Windows so slap it in the face and let it know who the boss is

I am sorry that I couldn't get you going with this monitor issue,  put it up to my face right now because I want to tell it this :rant2: stupid monitor,  but really I am baffled on this issue,  it should be a non-issue from my stand point,  but one last try if you want to try this, un-plug the monitor and maybe even take out your video card from your computer,  then boot your computer let it run and beep then do a hard shutdown,  meaning just turn it off then plug the cable back in to your motherboard port and reboot,  we did do a Safe Mode boot didn't we and it works eh?...here comes the kitchen sink mode :whistling:

I did find out how to change the location of the download - Thanx.

You did a lot of work but you cannot revive a dying object this old.. The only reason I pursued it was b/c I Googled and it was quite prevalent.

Thanks again.

When I get a new one should it have 2 ports on the back, one for 15 pin VGA to work with this pc and a DVI ?# of pins for a newer pc?

You are a proficient member but importantly a friendly one at that. No one  was born knowing pc skills and sometimes that is forgotten.

Aww thank you Peter   and your welcome my friend.

These days a monitor should have both VGA and DVI and even a HDMI port,  it will depend on your video card as well to what it has for a connection port to your viewing device,  my Radeon HD 4650 video card has 1 VGA and 2 DVI ports as I run two monitors,  but my computer does have a HDMI port as well,  I never used it because I watch my movies from my notebook to my TV and not my old desktop computer because it lags and can barely run Windows 7, so yes I still use Windows XP with it becuase Windows 7 hogs my resources and slows it down on this old dual boot system :whistling:

Let me know what kind of monitor you are looking at when you decide to get a new one or even off of e-bay and I will be more than happy to help you and make sure you get the best value for your money.
