I wish the link for ccApp.exe not responding had worked, when myself had this happen, this is the route I took that solved it.
Only thing that comes to mind is a security setting not allowing the change.
If you could disconnect from the internet......disable security (such as Norton Firewall or Spybot tea timer)
delete temp files, Turn off Auto-Protect floppy drive scan on shutdown as directions instucted....then reboot, check that all security is back in place....??

I did delete temp files, and turned off Auto-Protect floppy drive scan on shutdown before I un/reinstalled. I'll try it again!

:) Well finally!!! That fixed the annoying ccApp error message once and for all!!!!! Thanks for sticking it out and giving me your best work! I had tried the auto protect scan disable before to no avail so I guess I wasn't inclined to try it again. But I didn't think the reinstall would have any bearing. I believe the reinstall was necessary to fix the Live Update error and ultimately that gave me a cleaner system. :weee:

Question tho'... Do I need to keep the Auto Protect floppy scan... turned off permenantly? ;)
