Download FxAgentB.exe from HERE and save it to your desktop. After downloading, double-click the FxAgentB file to run it and the program will scan your entire hard drive - this may take a while. When it is done, it will generate a log file called FxAgentB.log - save that information as you will need to paste it here later. Reboot when done.

Next click HERE to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'. If you already have CWShredder, click 'Check for update' and make sure you are running version 1.59.1. Reboot when done.

Then click HERE to download Ad-Aware SE and install. Before scanning click on "check for updates now" to make sure you have the latest reference file. Click "Start", select "Perform Full System scan" and "Next" to start the scan. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

Then download about:buster from the link below.
http://www.subratam.org/?page=removal

Important steps to getting this tool to work properly:

First unzip all files from the zip folder to a folder or your desktop. Start it and hit ok. Then hit update. A new screen should popup. On that screen hit Check for Updates. If it says it found an update hit Download Updates. If it doesnt it will automatically tell you and exit. Now for the scanning part. Hit start and then Ok. The program should start scanning. Then hit exit and reboot.

Once rebooted run about:Buster once more to make sure everything is ok.
The database will be updated very frequently so check your versions once a day.

Reboot when done, rescan with HijackThis and post a new log here, together with the FxAgentB log.

Restart your computer in Safe Mode.

Press F8 after the Power-On Self Test (POST) is done. If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, try restarting and then pressing F8 several times after the POST screen.
Choose the Safe Mode option from the Windows Advanced Options Menu then press Enter.

Open CWShredder and with ALL other windows closed, click fix.

Now run:

Ad-Aware FULL SCAN:

First in the main window look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

From main window :Click Start then under Select a scan Mode check Perform full system scan.
Next deselect Search for negligible risk entries.
Now to scan just click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it.(Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)

Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

I'll do all that in a sec but I just wandered... When I do add aware scans it sends nothing to my recycle bin but it creates a quarantine list. I have been deleting quarantined items is that good enough or am I missing something that automatically deletes them?

If they don't go away this time we'll try another fix

I suggest you do this:

Use Add/Remove Programs and remove:
WildTangent

Run Hijack This again and put a check by these.

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\sp.html

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] RUNDLL32.exe "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll",cdaEngineMain

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft Update] navmgrd.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft Updates] wkssvr.exe

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Restart in Safe Mode:
Restart your computer.

Press F8 after the Power-On Self Test (POST) is done. If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, try restarting and then pressing F8 several times after the POST screen.
Choose the Safe Mode option from the Windows Advanced Options Menu then press Enter.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Search for and delete these files if listed:
navmgrd.exe
wkssvr.exe

Do this also if these Temp Folders are part of your OS.

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Next navigate to the C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY USER)\Local Settings\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.

I did that one. Sorry I should have specified, but I was short on time. It was... go to Star>Run, and type in:cmd select: OK At the cmd prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each: ect... What was that going to fix I did it anyway but I don't know what to look for to see if it's fixed. The log I posted was after I followed your last post but before I did this one. I hope that makes sence!?!?

This will fix the recycle bin. If you're having issue there.

go to Start>Run, and type in: cmd
Select: OK
At the cmd prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each:

cd\
attrib -h -s c:\recycler
del c:\recycler

See if this fixes it?

new log and a few bits of info. I ran all my scans again and checked for updates again just for kicks. One odd thing I ran into is in the spybot scan. Every time I scan it picks this up as follows. It says it fixes it, but if I scan again imediately after it wil find the same thing every time.

Also searches still unable to locate navmgrd.exe or wkssvr.exe. Recycle bin doesn't seem to be missbehaving I thought it may have been add-aware not sending it to recycle bin. All seems the same as it was before concerning the recycle bin.

The fact that Spybot finds the problem but can't fix it, is just a bug in Spybot v1.3.

This link will fix it: Download if you want.

http://www.majorgeek...wnload4392.html

Download KillBox.zip from here:
http://www.bleepingc...are/KillBox.zip
Place it in a folder on your Desktop.

Now, extract KillBox (downloaded earlier) from the zip file and double-click on KillBox.exe to run it.

In the main screen of Pocket KillBox, go to Tools in the top menu bar, and select: Delete Temp Files.

Back at the main screen of KillBox, select the option: Delete on Reboot

In the Full Path of File to Delete box, copy and paste this entry:
C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\sp.html
Press the button with a red circle and a white X.
When asked if you would like to Reboot, select No.

Do the same as above for each of the files that follow, Press the button with a red circle and a white X.
When asked if you would like to Reboot, select No.

C:\wkssvr.exe
C:\navmgrd.exe

Finally, in the Full Path of File to Delete, copy and paste the following:
C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll
Press the button with a red circle and a white X.
When asked to Reboot, select Yes!!
____
Run Hijack This again and put a check by these.

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\sp.html
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] RUNDLL32.exe "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll",cdaEngineMain
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft Update] navmgrd.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft Updates] wkssvr.exe

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Use Add/Remove Programs and remove:
WildTangent

Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Killbos gave me an error message "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data has been removed by external process!" If it isn't a concern about spybot then I am not worried about it.
