up to you, personally i'd not worry about connecting by wifi but if you do want an ethernet connection then i don't see what's wrong with the HP 8720 pro you said you had first bought, besides it's cost of course, which i think is about 4x the price of the brother printer.
also don't worry about wifi not being ac i very much doubt the data transfer speeds of b,g,n will ever be a problem for you when printing and definitely not a problem when faxing.
max fax data transfer speed i believe is in the region of 33Kbits a second where as the slowest wifi b (out of b,g,n) data transfer speed is about 10Mbits a second, M is 1000 times more than K in the Kbit and Mbit speed values.
