I looked at the patern odd, even, odd, even, odd, even earlier but couldn't come up with anything. The other thing I saw was in the first set of 3 the numbers are 1 smaller, 1 bigger, 1 smaller then the 2 set. Again couldn't come up with anything that didn't involve using a number ie add 1 or minus 1. I also thought of this. The 1st number is the sum of the 2nd and 3rd. The 4th is the product of the 5th and 6th. The sum of the 5th and 6th is the 1st number. I wasn't sure how simple that was or if any other number combination would also work.

541 632 write the numbers down low to high in a snake pattern start at top right, down, left, up, left, down. then just read them back left to right, top line first. shrugs. or in an s shape 21 34 65 read up from bottom, last column first. or s, high to low, read back by columns. 56 43 12

Further hint: In what simple "system" (that virtually everyone knows) does 5 come before 4 and 4 before 1?

Without saying any numbers, please provide the simplest instructions to someone to write down the number 541,632. These instructions should be so simple that someone could write the number down when they get home, tomorrow... or even next week.
