Thanks in advance to all of those who are giving my situation a thought,
Basically I'm using a desktop computer and before a month ago it could connect to my wireless network downstairs, I don't know what has happened but now it won't find the router even if i bring it 2 feet away. As a temp solution, I am using a netgear adapter to solve the issue. The problem being is that it keeps disconnecting and I'm beginning to get sick of it.
info:
Windows: Vista SP2
2 year old computer.
Virus free,,,
NETGEAR WG111v3 54Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter (Adapter)
Realtek 8185 Extensible 802.11b/g Wireless Device
I appreciate your time.
Tej
Any additional thoughts or information as to what may have occurred at about the same time or prior to the difficulty beginning?

Have you tried moving the USB connector to a different port on the Desktop computer?
Unplug it, wait 20 seconds or so then plug it into a different USB connector. See what happens.
the usb is not a problem. It is only a temp solution, before the USB i could connect to the network through my built in wireless drive.
