Until you have your Malware Removal Thread "resolved" at Safer-Networking Forums, it would be inappropriate for me or anyone else here at WTT to add any instructions or comment that could conflict with that work at Safer-Networking Forums.
Please complete the work you have in progress at Safer-Networking Forums.

Ok, my new topic at the malware removal forum is also come to an end with logs showing clean. Now we are back to Yahoo issues..

Hi.

You sorted out point 1 but the rest of the points 2,3,4,5,6 are still left.
Here they are:

2. When i contact yahoohelp through the contact help form, the replies i get are without the purple Y insignia or domain key, unlike what other people get when they contact yahoo.

3. When you are a member of a official yahoogroup, then the news from the group and updates from the group contain the purple Y insignia, unlike mine. I am not talking of the group messages which members post to all but the news or updates from the group.

4. Yahoomail classic layout , for people, shows a drop down menu next to "hi <user>", from where they can select account info. Mine has no drop down menu next to "hi <user>". Having no account info means i have no option to reset my password.

5. My incoming and outgoing mails are reaching in a lot of time. Some important mails regarding communication of how yahoomail works seem to be missing, or communication with someone who is helping on this seems to be blocked out of nowhere suddenly when the last mail they sent was "i will confirm info and get back in the evening".

6..People see a option to create a signin seal if you dont have one, above the sign in form ,when they are on the sign in page, but i am not seeing that option, only a form to sign in.

Hi venus_n I wonder if a feature or add-on of Internet Explorer 8 may be interfering. Try browsing with Internet Explorer (no add-ons) Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Internet Explorer (no add-ons)

Ok, tried some of those points for ie-without-addons. The same results. Anyway i have not installed any add-ons on IE. The addons's are on mozilla firefox.. I always use internet explorer for yahoomail, though for some other parts of yahoo i may use firefox.

Well, it was good to give it a try anyway, venus_n. I'm out of ideas at this time. But it is a perplexing problems. I'm sure I will think about it in the background of my thoughts. If something occurs to me, or I stumble upon the solution of someone else, I will post. For now, I certainly wish that you could have a local friend take a look. Or maybe you take a look at the machine/system of someone else locally, to see what yahoo looks like on their machine with their account. Maybe even stop by a local store that sells computers, or a college, or library, and they might let you try out one of their machines.

Well, it was good to give it a try anyway, venus_n.

Oh ofcourse i gave it a try (running IE the way you told) and got the same results. I did it as soon as you had suggested the way you had suggested. I meant to just otherwise go on and say that anyway i dont have addon's installed on IE.

As far as answers.yahoo.com is concerned, i have eaten the heads of most top contributers (in 1. security section and 2. some sub-sections of yahoo section ) of answers.yahoo.com with PM's , besides posting questions on the site. Moreover i was told by some top contributer in PM, some days back, that answers.yahoo.com is basically for general stuff. Even if i post in security section, i may get some technical advice, but still its basically not for technical knowledge.

Ok, thanks meanwhile.

Another thing you can try is create a new account on your computer just to see what happens when you use IE from there to browse Yahoo. Perhaps there is something messed up in your account that is causing this?

Another thing you can try is create a new account on your computer just to see what happens when you use IE from there to browse Yahoo.

I have tried, it takes me to a signup form, which never submits. I keep entering a chosen username and chosen password along with the rest of my data. But when i submit, it says "your password cannot be same as your username, name, or the word passwrd". It says this in red. Now the password i enter is random. maybe "93heyhjvbhjf93r03D" . Still it says this. I have tried choosing several passwrds. So basically i cannot create an account.

By the way, for this account creating proceedure, i dont login to my previous account.

Ztruker is suggesting that you create a new login user account "on your computer". Presumably, you now have at least one user account.... probably named something like Venus_n. Go to Control Panel - User Accounts - select to Create a New Account and create a password for it. (for this experiment, give your new account Administrative Privileges) The new account will have name different from Venus_n . Maybe make it named: WTTexperiment Reboot your machine. Select to open with your newly created account. (WTTexperiment) Enter your new password to log into your computer as WTTexperiement. Open IE Browse to Yahoo Mail Select to create a new Yahoo Account. Let us know what happens

Most perplexing are.., i would still think that other points were chance.

6..People see a option to create a signin seal if you dont have one, above the sign in form ,when they are on the sign in page, but i am not seeing that option, only a form to sign in.

The point 6, how can i be sure is not a redirect.

Oh, ok... i just read your read your message. I will do that.

Speaking from my new user account. Tried Yahoo. Same signin page without the option to create a signin seal. Also tried to signup for new user, but after i clicked on create a new yahoo id, the signup page just wont contain anything this time. Its blank grey. Light grey. Bytheway, i am seeing less ads on your site from this user. I always view your site from mozilla. I dont know, it could be even due to change in mozilla browser settings in this account. But i have set up to block all ads etc anyway on the original account of mine too. Increased security etc there too.

I deleted my new user called wttexperiment, because in the new user , i logged in once into my yahoo account before trying to create a new one. So i thought maybe thats why it doesn't work. Maybe yahoo tries to prevent you from creating multiple accounts. So, i deleted the user, and again created the user by same name "wttexperiment", set up IE to disable all first party and third party cookies, after that i connected to internet, then went to create a new yahoo account. So the form came up which was different from the one i used to see in the past for signup. I filled the the feilds and hit enter, and it gave the message "you need to have cookies enabled to use yahoo accounts". Then i enabled, and refreshed. page didnt change. Hit back on browser, but the page was now the grey blank webpage on the signup page. Refreshed this signup page. Still grey. Then wrote mail.yahoo.com in address bar, and again clicked to signup, and then again grey blank web page. Then went back to my original computeruser and deleted user wttexperiment again. Restarted computer. And created user wttexperiment again thinking this time i will enable first part party cookies. Restarted computer to login to wttexperiment and enabled first party cookies only. Connected to internet. And clicked to create a new yahoo account, but now same blank grey. Repeated the above para to just ensure i didnt do anything wrong. Got same results.

ok, here i just logged into my webmessenger of yahoo (it doesnt need installation, its on a web page), and i had an offline message from a contact telling me "you chnaged your avtar display". And there, i neverr changed it. It was a glacier till yesterday. And today it was a "!" symbol. I mean the exclaimation mark (white over orange background). Also, i have had this password for like maybe 20 days, i have not even mentioned it to anyone. Whats the mystery. Its not an easy password. Its a meangless jumble of charecters and punctuations. I remember it. I memorised it when i created it. I haven't written it down anywhere.
