Welcome to the Forums.

The fixes we will use are specific to your problems and should only be used for this issue on this machine.

Please only use this topic to reply to. Do not start another thread.
If any other issues arise let me know.
The process is not instant.
Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine is clear.
Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
So lets do this to the end!

  • Save and quit any work your doing before beginning the fix.
  • All hijackthis logs I ask for should be done in normal mode ( not safe mode)
  • These logs should be done last after you have followed my instructions in the previous post.
  • DO NOT be installing new programs while you run Hijackthis.
  • If I do not hear from you in 5 days from my last post this topic will be closed.

Please if you decide to seek help at another forum let us know. There is a shortage of helpers and tying 2 of us up is a waste of time.
If you have any questions about any advice given here please STOP and ask!

Submit a file to Jotti
Please go here : http://virusscan.jotti.org/
On top of the page there is a field to add the filepath, copy and paste this filepath in there.
If theres is more than one file to scan, insert them 1 at a time.

C:\Program Files\YouKu\iKu\iKu.exe

Then hit Submit
The scan will take a while before the result comes up so please be patient.
Then copy the result and post it here in this thread.

You may recieve a message stating "
"The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file"

Just let me know if that is what you saw.

If Jotti's service load is too high, you can use the following scanner instead:

  • Download Random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<info.txt (<

This log will also produce a Hijackthis log so NO reason to post one of those.

This event is generated when a logon session is created. It is generated on the computer that was accessed.

The subject fields indicate the account on the local system which requested the logon. This is most commonly a service such as the Server service, or a local process such as Winlogon.exe or Services.exe.

The logon type field indicates the kind of logon that occurred. The most common types are 2 (interactive) and 3 (network).

The New Logon fields indicate the account for whom the new logon was created, i.e. the account that was logged on.

The network fields indicate where a remote logon request originated. Workstation name is not always available and may be left blank in some cases.

The authentication information fields provide detailed information about this specific logon request.
- Logon GUID is a unique identifier that can be used to correlate this event with a KDC event.
- Transited services indicate which intermediate services have participated in this logon request.
- Package name indicates which sub-protocol was used among the NTLM protocols.
- Key length indicates the length of the generated session key. This will be 0 if no session key was requested.

When i try to update MBAM, the following message pops up. I also get a similar message when i try to update SUPERAntispyware and AVG Anti-Virus Free. At first AVG started working but it stopped after a few seconds. and a message similar to the ones given to me by MBAM and SUPERAntispyware pops up.

Update failed. Make sure you are connected to the internet and your firewall is set to allow MBAM to acess the internet.

THANK YOU

In your next reply I would like to see:
    • A new HJT log
    • The report from MBAM
    • Still getting redirected ?
    • What rootkit did you remove and how ?
There wasn't an icon on the bottom right hand side of the screen but i exited windows defender manually by going to control panel. _______________________________ HJT -fixed the three lines _______________________________ Deleted C:\Program Files\YouKu _______________________________ I downloaded the Flash disinfecter by SuBS and ran it with my USB drive plugged into my computer but my background did not disappear. _______________________________ The file recycled\info.exe wasn't on my usb drive. _______________________________ Firewall is off _______________________________ AVG - there wasn't an option to quit control center when i right-clicked the icon on the bottom-right hand side of my screen, but I closed AVG and received a warning pop-up and pressed yes. _______________________________ Malwarebytes- I still can not update malwarebytes. I received the message that i received last time. There is no update mirror option under the check for update box. _______________________________
Have you ever been able to update it ?
It looks like you only have had it on for about a week or so.
