My wife's notebook has been showing a list of Spooler SubSystem App errors when she boots.

She is using Windows Vista Home Premium.

The notebook came preloaded with Bullguard security suite. She ran a full scan and found only three infections in cookies which she fixed (cookies deleted). When I checked her settings, I found that the Windows firewall was enabled and the Bullguard firewall was disabled. (I'm not familiar with Vista, but in XP I would have disabled the Windows Firewall and enabled the Bullguard firewall as I understood that the XP firewall was checking inbound traffic only.)

The error list that came offered to view details on the Spooler error instances. Here is the detail from one of the error instances:

Can you advise if this the result of an infection or how we can stop the Spooler errors occurring, please?
The module causing problems, as your post says is lxdeptpc.dll. THe spooler errors are usually printer related, and files that have a name starting with LX are usually Lexmark printer drivers. However, I can find next to no reference data on this filename.

If I had to bet, I would say that you have a Lexmark printer installed? If this is the case, you need to unplug the Lexmark printer, uninstall all Lexmark related software from add/remove programs, and delete any Lexmark printers listed in control panel -> printers. Reboot the computer and see if the problem persists. Probably not. Now, download/install the newest Lexmark software directly from the Lexmark website. Your problem will probably be solved.

If you are using a 64-bit version of Vista make sure you are using 64-bit printer drivers. Control panel -> system will tell you what version if it is 32 or 64 bit. 64-bit versions of windows and printers still don't play nice together.
