How do I submit my Hijack This logfile for analisis by someone who knows what can and cannot be removed from the list. My Computer won't allow me to download any anti virus program, print any documents and there is no tools option, and when I finally found the internet options, it will not allow me to access them.
Help Me Please.

system on the web without a Antivirus??, we need to get a AV on this system ASAP.


we are going to need to download tools to help us clean your system, if we have trouble like you are having with the Antivirus, do you

But first off lets try this.

  • Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and save it to a convenient location.
  • Double click on mbam-setup.exe to install it.
  • Before clicking the Finish button, make sure that these 2 boxes are checked (ticked):
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
      Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will now check for updates. If your firewall prompts, please allow it. If you can't update it, select the Update tab. Under Update Mirror, select one of the websites and click on Check for Updates.
  • Select the Scanner tab. Click on Perform full scan, then click on Scan.
  • Leave the default options as it is and click on Start Scan.
  • When done, you will be prompted. Click OK, then click on Show Results.
  • Checked (ticked) all items and click on Remove Selected.
  • After it has removed the items, Notepad will open. Please post this log in your next reply. You can also find the log in the Logs tab. The bottom most log is the latest.


Next

Make a uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.


Click on the Save list… button and specify where you would like to save this file.

When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file.
Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply.

Make a uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.


Click on the Save list… button and specify where you would like to save this file.

When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file.
Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here on your next reply.

Hi DFW. I tried to go to the link you provided and as usual, my system will not allow me to go there. A new page tries to open but immediatley closes. So what now.
In answer to your questions.
My free trial to AVG just expired, and I do not have access to another system to download the file, but I can try to find someone with one I can use. In the mean time, what should I do for protection.

Did you manage to find a second pc to download from, if you did follow the instructions below, from the second PC

  • Download GMER by GMER from one of the links below:
    Link1
    Link2
  • Unzip it to a folder on your desktop
    Once you have unzipped it please go into the new folder and find gmer.exe, right click
    on gmer.exe and rename it to gimer.exe, then burn the new folder to CD, do not use a flash drive,take the CD to your system
    and copy the folder to you desktop,
  • Open the folder and Double click on gimer.exe to launch GMER
  • If asked, allow the gmer.sys driver load
  • If it warns you about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan, click OK
  • If you don't get a warning then
    • Click the rootkit tab
    • Click Scan
  • Once the scan has finished, click copy
  • Paste the log into notepad using Ctrl+V
  • Save it to your desktop as gmerrk.txt
  • Click on the >>> tab
  • This will open up the rest of the tabs for you
  • Click on the Autostart tab
  • Click on Scan
  • Once the scan has finished, click copy
  • Paste the log into notepad using Ctrl+V
  • Save it to your desktop as gmerautos.txt
  • Copy and paste the contents of gmerautos.txt and gmerrk.txt as a reply to this topic

Ok, Lets try this, the infection is blocking any tools we use to clean, renaming this tool as we download may work.


Download Combofix from any of the links below. You must rename it before saving it, anything you like,Save it to your desktop.

If you are able to download and save, follow the instructions below.



  • Very Important!, before running Combofix Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan.
    They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
