My computer has been slow lately. I have Symantec corporate antivirus installed and updated. Some sort of malware has repeatedly infectedmy system so I added avg antispyware, windows liveonecare. Today something deleted security files on my symantec antivirus ( a balloon notified me) and disabled my windows liveonecare. I got a message about not enough memory (also in a balloon). I restarted in safe mode and ran all my programs. AVG found "unspecified adware" and deleted it. A few minutes later my computer died (it's a laptop) because I forgot to plug it in. When I restarted it in regular mode it seems very slow, but nothing else has been disabled again. Thank you for any help or suggestions that you might have.
I am still in training and therefore need my replies checked first by senior staff here before responding, so I will respond to you once I have approval.
Welcome to What the Tech, sorry if there was a delay, it's a busy forum.

Please either print or copy these instructions to a program like Notepad because you wont have Internet access during some of them.

Please manually disconnect your computer from the Internet.

  • Download ComboFix and save it to the Desktop.
  • You must download it to and run it from your Desktop
  • Now STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields) as they could easily interfere with ComboFix.
  • Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to post in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log
  • Re-enable all the programs that were disabled during the running of ComboFix just before manually reconnecting to the Internet.

Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

You have real time protection enabled for both AVG Anti-Spyware and Spybot Search and Destroy, this is not advisable because conflicts can occur. Please choose one of these to keep real time protection enabled and disable it for the other one, you can still use that one as an on demand scanner. I recommend you choose Spybot Search and Destroy for real time protection because, if you're using the trial version of AVG Anti-Spyware, after 30 days it degrades to an on demand scanner anyway. If you are unsure how to do this please let me know as well as the one you choose for real time protection.

Please post a new HijackThis(HJT) log and let me know how your computer is running.
