I have had an issue, I can't access windows update site i get redirected to other sites which are different everytime. Also any web address i seem to put up sends me elsewhere. I've tried loading Malwarebytes and other spyware software but i am unable to update any of them because i get some kind of a server error.

Also i can't start certain services in the services.msc section: Get a "error 1086: The dependency service or group failed to start"

Here is my hijackthis log:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Just wondering if i posted this wrong or was not within the rules. I see everyone who posted after me got a response but i did not. Please lead me in the right direction so i could get some assistance with this more then annoying computer problem. Thanks in advance.
Hi CopperBBoxer, welcome to the forum.

Please be advised, as I'm still in training, all my replies will have to be approved by a teacher or expert before I can post them. This may cause some delays, but I will do my best to keep them as short as possible.

To make cleaning this machine easier
  • Please do not uninstall/install any programs unless asked to
It is more difficult when files/programs are appearing in/disappearing from the logs.
  • Please do not run any scans other than those requested
  • Please follow all instructions in the order posted
  • All logs/reports, etc.. must be posted in Notepad. Please ensure that word wrap is unchecked. In notepad click format, uncheck word wrap if it is checked.
  • Do not attach any logs/reports, etc.. unless specifically requested to do so.
  • If you have problems with or do not understand the instructions, Please ask before continuing.
I will post back soon with additional instructions.

Thanks
Hi CopperBBoxer,

A couple of questions

Which services are you having trouble with?

If necessary, do you have access to another computer that can be used to download tools?

Let's start with this

Open HJT (hijackthis), do a system scan only, checkmark the following lines if present

O2 - BHO: SearchToolbar - {08BEC6AA-49FC-4379-3587-4B21E286C19E} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: SearchToolbar - {08BEC6AA-49FC-4379-3587-4B21E286C19E} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k
O8 - Extra context menu item: Ebates - file://C:\Program Files\Ebates_MoeMoneyMaker\Sy350\Tp350\scri350a.htm
O9 - Extra button: Ebates - {6685509E-B47B-4f47-8E16-9A5F3A62F683} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\shdocvw.dll (HKCU)

Close all other browsers/windows and click fix checked. Answer Yes if prompted. Close HJT.

Next, let's look deeper. Download Rooter.exe to your desktop
  • Then doubleclick it to start the tool
  • A Notepad file containing the report will open, also found at %systemdrive%\Rooter.txt (Where %systemdrive% is usually C: or the drive that you have installed Windows). Post that in your next reply.
Please post a new HJT log and the Rooter log in your next reply.

Thanks
Yes i do sorry was away for the weekend. I will post those logs for you today. Again sorry for the delay. And thanks for your help. Currently having issues with the computer. I ran SDFIX right before i posted my first hijack this log for you and upon reboot my usb mouse and usb keyboard no longer work. As soon as i remedy this i will do as you referenced and post the logs for you.

As for the services i will have to log into the services.msc to see exactly what ones were giving me the problem and i will post. It seems that since i have run SDFIX my USB mouse & Keyboard no longer work and in the MY COMPUTER i do not see my CD rom drives anymore. I am using my keyboard as my mouse right now. But yet my UBS flash stick works in the USB port. HELP! :(

I also get a STOP: 0x00000051 blue screen error every now and then. I believe it has something to do with the registry. And yes i can download tools from another computer.

Services i am having trouble starting:

1. Help and support: Could not start the Help and Support service on Local Computer /error: 126: the specified module could not be found

2.Universal Plug and Play Device Host: Could not start the Universal Plug and Play Device Host service on Local Computer / error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or is marked for deletion.

There are a few more giving me issues will post as soon as i get them.
Hi CopperBBoxer,

You should not run tools such as Combofix, SdFix etc without supervision. These tools are very powerful and can do damage when used incorrectly.

Please post the SDFix log so we can see what was found/removed. The log can be found in the folder you saved SDFix to. It will be called Report.txt

Thanks
