[Resolved] How to Post HiJack This log with no internet capabilit

Thank you so much for all your help, I truly appreciate all you have done! HP Tech Help's solution was to wipe the drive and start over, which I told them was the last resort not the first and that I would attempt to fix it on my own before I performed a wipe!!! I checked the security levels of IE and all were set as you directed Just a few final questions before I sign off…. I've got AVG set to update daily and run a full scan every week I've got Windows firewall running and also Windows Defender….are these adequate MVPS Hosts file and Winpatrol…are these two programs you want me to download and run? Can I delete the old user profile that was having issues? I think all of the problems with this computer (it's my 19 year old son's!) I believe were caused because he downloaded music with out his anti-virus or firewall running (which of course he was warned not to do!).

That's one the biggest reason for infections.

Can you tell me how I get the documents and settings from the corrupt user into the new user profile? I can't access them except by opening the corrupt user. The corrupt user is the profile that has all the music files that he wants to save!!!

I would think one or more of those illegal music / movie downloads is what infected the computer to begin with. Do you really want to try and save those infected illegal music files that could still be infected and could re-infect the computer?

Sorry I won't get involved in illegal activities.
