Every time I open Firefox or clean out the cache with any program this error comes up as the files that bitdefender flags are in the firfox cache folders and cant be deleted normally it seems.
In searching for a fix I also clicked on a link in google which rebooted my pc. Not good I know. What type of link can reboot your pc??? Especially with all the TomCoyote/WattheTech suggested programs I've installed.

Here is bitdefenders info on the virus I seem to have:
http://www.bitdefender.com/VIRUS-1000407-e…ntiVirus.L.html

I have tried this so far per the WhattheTech Chat room advice:
http://forums.whatthetech.com/How_Remove_S…009_t96520.html

I have already backed up my registry.

I'm a longtime follower of TomCoyote forums and have deleted viruses on my own before yet this one is really giving me trouble.

Please share with me your advice.
Thanks : )

I'm running:
Firefox Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.4) Gecko/2008102920 Firefox/3.0.4

They are now. What is SAS? I've run everything I've been taught to run from this forum to clean things up. I've run a few different scans with bitdefender that tells me if finds things but doesnt explain how to delete them so I'm gussing it does it on it's own. I've run a rootrevel as well which turned up nothing as well as running some things in safemode. Bitdefender is not flagging things anymore so that's good. Also my outlook express and firefox were losing Internet connection yet I could ping anything through the command prompt. I would have to reboot to get it to work. After the bitdefender and ad-aware scans that stopped so it seems I had some kind of bug or maybe a few. So are you saying from my hijack log you don't see anything suspicious? Sorry for the late reply I never got an e-mail showing you had replied. grrrrrrrrrr.. I'll have to check my settings again about that. Thanks :D p.s. I posted to early. I'm still losing the internet connection to outlook express and firefox. I have to reboot to get it back after some time has passed it just does it again. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
hi,

What is SAS?

C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware

you don't see anything suspicious?

no

reboot to get it back after some time has passed it

how much time? is it after your computer goes into standby or hibernation, options you would set in the control panel?
No, my computer is always on. There is no standby, hibernation or screen saver that I can see. Something just seems to grab my internet connection away from outlook and firefox yet I can still ping sites with no problem. I reboot and it solves it. I go away from my pc for a while and when I come back the connection seems dead. It's got to be in the pc since I can still ping fine. Any ideas?
so you cant get on the internet with fire fox, (unless you reboot) but you can ping and get a reply from web sites? after the reboot the connection is ok for a while? then the same problem returns
Not exactly…..my initial problem was flagged by bitdefender and an infected file in my firefox cache that would not delete. That problem has not reoccurred. I don't know what the issue is now but it's very frustrating. Yes, I can ping and get a reply from the same website that FireFox says is not available. Outlook express will not find the mail server either. When I reboot all is good for a while…….maybe an hour or so.
if you can ping and get a reply back then you must have connectivity. have you tried launching internet explorer to see if it can display the webpage, when FF cant? maybe reinstall FF. from a cmd prompt type in: ipconfig /flushdns click ok or enter note; the space after the g and before the (/) backflash do you have a router?
Forget it. I found no answers and things just got worse with my system and I had to do a reformat after pulling the data off. Thanks though.
