I am having problems with Windows host process Rundell 32 which says everytime I start up my computer that it has stopped working and it has closed it out. I also get that same message when I try to play a game from iwin.com only, this time it says that Microsoft Register Server has been closed and the reason they give is that the DEP closed for my protection. I had never had any problems witrh this before until someone installed System Shield 3 Internet Security on to our computer. I had contacted iwin.com and they said that there software has a link in it the software that automactically takes it to the website so you don't have to get on the internet yourself to access there website and sometimes antiviruses identify it as a virus because of it. I tried what they told me and I even tried going into the Windows Vista firewall but it will not let change the settings that is when the Rundell message will pop up and it won't let me through. "I feel these 2 thingss must be important in some kind of way so I need to figure out how to get them back on. Please help me with this problem its been almost 2 weeks and its driving me crazy. Thanks in andvance for help given
Hello,
Here is an article from Microsoft on DEP.
There are web sites that will tell you how to disable DEP. Just Google for that information.
I believe that your issue is being caused by DEP, and you may be able to create an exception (read the Microsoft article to learn how.) for the two programs that you are having this issue with.
I looked at the article and it was helpful but, when I tried to add both programs to thee list it said that both of them could not be found. I don't understand why they can't be found unless because, it keeps saying they have been closed but it seem like it would still be on the computer. I am not sure how to find them? Will I need to try to put them back on or what I think they were already apart of Windows Vista I don't think anyone downloaded them from anywhere. The information you gave I believe will solve it I just need to find where they are.
Please look at this article for information on repairing the rundll32 file.
I do not know a lot about gaming, but if the file is corrupt you can uninstall the program and reinstall it. and then follow the instructions from the first artical.
Mal-ware can leave some nasty suprises for you after you remove them from your machine. I believe that this is from a mal-ware infection.
