I downladed ATF Cleaner and tried to download the antimalware software from the before you post thread. I get a message that an unknown error occurred and the program could not be downloaded, try a different location. I have tried four locations and no luck. I am plagued by system antivirus 2008, numerous popups at 45 sec intervals and the dreaded blue screen of death. Help?
Hi and welcome to the forums here at WTT. :D

Have you tried downloading and running HijackThis yet? If so post the log that was generated. If not please do so as follows:

We need a HijackThis! log to see what's going on here.

[external image: Posted Image]Click here to download HJTInstall.exe
  • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
