Unit C: not shown

My C: unit (the icon) dessapeared after I followed the steps for removing the Virus Alert (http://forums.whatthetech.com/How_To_Remove_VIRUS_ALERT_t93788.html). I can only access the C: unit with the windows explorer application. Can someone help me fix this? Thank You

Are you talking about your C: drive?
I do not see icons for hard drives on too many desktops.
  • Click on the start button.
  • Select computer (my computer for XP
  • Right click on the C: drive icon
  • Select create shortcut.
This will create a short cut icon on your desktop for the hard drive.
