Hello conductr172
Welcome to the Whatthetech Malware Removal Forum
You do have some issues going on, lets do this, first drag Hijackthis to the trash as its an outdated version.
This tool needs to be run from Safemode to be effective so download it to your desktop and then boot to Safemode and run the tool.
To Enter Safemode
Tutorial if you need it How to boot into Safemode
- Go to Start> Shut off your Computer> Restart
- As the computer starts to boot-up, Tap the F8 KEY somewhat rapidly,
this will bring up a menu.- Use the Up and Down Arrow Keys to scroll up to Safemode
- Then press the Enter Key on your Keyboard
Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.
Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)
Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
- Restart your computer
- After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
- Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
- Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
- Choose your usual account.
- Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
- Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
- It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
- Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
- When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
- Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).- Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log
Then download and install the latest version of Hijackthis by Trendmicro.
Download Trendmicros Hijackthis to your desktop.
Double click it to install
Follow the prompts and by default it will install in C:\Program Files\Trendmicro\Hijackthis\Highjackthis.exe
DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
- Open HJT Scan and Save a Log File, it will open in Notepad
- Go to Format and make sure Wordwrap is Unchecked
- Go to Edit> Select Allā¦..Edit > Copy and Paste the new log into this thread by using the Post Reply and not start a New Thread.
Post the log from SDfix and a HJT log from Trendmicro
Due to inactivity this topic will be closed.
If you need help please start a new thread and post a new HJT log
Hi new here but have this exact problem. Please find attached logs after following above instructions. Thanks
Any chance someone may be able to help further?
