Hello,

I seem to have caught a virus. I downloaded some program from a torrent and it seems like it was infected.

I'm running Vista Home Premium.

AVG 8.0 supposedly caught it, but I am experiencing several things.

I searched the database for a similar problem but I couldn't find any. If someone knows the thread with the solution, please let me know.

1. Everytime I start my computer, I have a popup saying that there's some problem with a RunDLL file and it cannot run.

"Error loading C:windows/system32/random.dll the specified module cannot be found"

Sometimes it's in different places, not only windows system32.

2. Whenever I'm browsing on Firefox, I get a random tab to fling.com or fubar.com, antivirus vista 2008, etc. Sometimes it just goes crazy and makes a little window out of the browser swearing that I need to scan my computer with some random antivirus they offer.

I ran Lavasoft's AdAware and nothing, I ran AVG 8.0 and nada, I ran Spybot and still nothing. All of these with their respective updates.

AVG Tells me every time I restart that it found a trojan horse Dropper.AgentJBL and I ask it to heal it or remove it, but it keeps coming back. It's located in C:\Program files/MagicISO/Magiciso.exe I have that program and I use it so I don't know what that's about… it's supposed to be in windows/explorer.EXE

Also, Teatimer tells me that I have a registry change attempt on rundll32.exe by "C:\users\claudia\appdata\local\temp\DiffRandomLettersEveryTime.dll"

Help!!! :pullhair:

Stay with this topic until I give you the all clean post.

You might want to print these instructions out.

I suggest you do this:

You need To disable TeaTimer, it can stop our fix.

The best way is to do both, Right click the system tray icon and shut down. This will reset TT's registry snapshot. Then, open spybot in advanced mode and turn it off. When cleaning is done, open Spybot in advanced mode to turn back on.

Once fix is completed in the all clear post!!

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Next:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected .
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.
  • Note: If you receive a notice that some of the items couldn't be removed, that they have been added to the delete on reboot list, please reboot.
Also "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
