I have a virus. It starts as soon as you log into windows. I cannot start anyprograms (other than firefox) In Safe Mode the screen is black. I can boot with dos prompt. Would you please let me know how I can at least get access? I am using Windows XP Pro. Answer in my - case is use Ubuntu to scan the C drive - and delete enough to get back in. Then run every possible virus scan possible. One thing if anyone wants to write and answer. In windows explorer I can only see one of three hard disks. What did the virus turn off here? Also in the bottom left hand corner of my screen (where the clock goes) I have Virus Alert. How can I get rid of that?
