Hi, and Welcome to WhatTheTech :)

My name is jpshortstuff. I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. HijackThis logs can take a while to research, so please be patient and I'd be grateful if you would note the following:
  • I will working be on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for the issues on this machine.
  • Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
  • It's often worth reading through these instructions and printing them for ease of reference.
  • If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
As I am still training, my posts to you will be checked by an Expert member. This will ensure that all advice and instructions I give you are accurate and safe. This may mean that my replies may take a little longer.

Hi

You don't appear to be running any Anti-Virus software.

Install Anti-Virus software! Without any anti-virus software, your computer is wide open to infection. If you don't have any Anti-Virus software I strongly recommend you download Avast! or AVG Free

After installing one of these, please run a full scan and let me know the results.

Viewpoint Manager is often installed without the users permission. If you didn't install it, or if you did but you no longer use it, I recommend you get rid of it.

Please click Start >> Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs.
Find the item below on the list and click Remove.
Viewpoint Manager
Let me know how it goes.

Download and Run NoLop
Please Download NoLop to your desktop from one of the links below...
Link 1
Link 2
Link 3
  • First close any other programs you have running as this will require a reboot
  • Double click NoLop.exe to run it.
  • Now click the button labelled "Search and Destroy"
(your computer will now be scanned for infected files)
  • When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected, Click OK
  • Now click the "REBOOT" Button.
  • A Message should popup from NoLop. If not, double click the program again and it will finish.
  • Please post the contents of C:\NoLop.log later.
Note: If you receive an error, "mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies are not correctly registered," please download mscomctl.ocx to C:\WINDOWS\system32\ folder then rerun the program.

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and the extra.txt in your reply.
Thanks.

Hi

LimeWire
You have LimeWire, a P2P/file sharing programs installed on your computer. P2P applications like it are the largest source of malware we see. You'll be doing yourself a favor by removing it.

References for the risk of these programs can be found in these links:
http://www.microsoft...protection.mspx
http://www.techweb.com/wire/160500554
http://www.internetw...cles/art053.htm
See Clean/Infected P2P Programs here

I would recommend that you uninstall LimeWire, however that choice is up to you. If you choose to remove these programs, you can do so via Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs.

If you wish to keep it, please do not use it until your computer is cleaned.

The following program is part of the LOP infection that you have, and we need to remove it.

Please click Start >> Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs.
Find the below item on the list and click remove. You may need to follow a setup wizard to complete the uninstall.
CiD Help

Please Right Click your Start button, and click Explore.
Next, locate and delete the following files and folders (if present):

Folders:

Hi

Fix AWF Infection Step 2
Copy the file paths in the quote box below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

"C:Program Files\Apoint\bak\Apoint.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\bak\MSASCui.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\bak\WMPNSCFG.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Photo Album 6\bak\MediaDetect.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\bak\quickset.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\bak\issch.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\bak\isuspm.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\bak\realsched.exe"
"C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\bak\ifrmewrk.exe"

  • Double-click on the FindAWF.exe file to run it.
  • It will open a command prompt and ask you to "Press any key to continue".
  • Press 2 then Enter
  • Notepad will open a file named FindAWF.txt. It will appear with instructions to click below the line and paste the list of files to be restored.
  • Right click below this line and select Edit, Paste, to paste the list of files copied to the clipboard earlier. Save and close the document.
  • The program will proceed to move the legit files and will perform another scan for bak folders.
  • It may take a few minutes to complete, so please be patient.
  • When it is complete, it will open a text file in Notepad called AWF.txt.
  • Please copy and paste the contents of the AWF.txt file in your next reply.
Thanks.

Hi

Please Right Click your Start button, and click Explore.
Next, locate and delete the following files and folders (if present):

Files:
C:\Program Files\3wPlayer-1.7.0.0-setup-0511.exe <<FILE

Folders:
C:\Program Files\Apoint\bak\ <<FOLDER

If any of them aren't there then don't worry, but if you have a problem deleting one of them then please let me know.

Download SafeBootKeyRepair

http://download.blee...otKeyRepair.exe

Save it to your Desktop.

Double-click to run it, and follow instruction.

Now, please attempt to enter safe mode, and let me know if you can/can't do this. Here are instructions to enter safe mode:
  • Restart the computer.
  • As soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
  • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
  • Press Enter.
You can reboot your computer back into normal mode if it works, I just need to know whether it does or doesn't work.

Backup Your Registry with ERUNT
  • Please use the following link and scroll down to ERUNT and download it.
    http://aumha.org/freeware/freeware.php
  • For version with the Installer:
Use the setup program to install ERUNT on your computer
  • For the zipped version:
Unzip all the files into a folder of your choice.
Click Erunt.exe to backup your registry to the folder of your choice.

Note: To restore your registry, go to the folder and start ERDNT.exe

Please do this:
  • Copy the contents of the Code Box below to Notepad.
  • Name the file as fix.reg
  • Change the Save as Type to All Files
  • and Save it on the desktop
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"Aim6"=-

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\mountpoints2\{361ac05d-0e0d-11da-9aa9-806d6172696f}]
Make sure there are NO blank lines before REGEDIT4

Then double-click on the fix.reg file, and when it prompts to merge say yes.

You don't appear to be running any third party Firewall software.

Install a firewall! Without a firewall you are very susceptible to being hacked, and people could gain access to your computer. If you don't have a firewall I strongly recommend you download ONE of the following:
1) Comodo
2) Agnitum
3) Sunbelt/Kerio
4) ZoneAlarm

Please post a new HijackThis log after completing these steps, and let me know how the computer is running.

Thanks.
