. She said she could do a system restore for my mom to try to fix a minor problem that she was having, but instead she ran the system recovery. (It is an HP Pavillion M7463w, and of course, my Mom never made the recovery disks) Well after the recovery process FAILED/// RUNTIME ERROR PROGRAM C:MINIT\SYSTEM32\RESTORE.EXE/// is when all the problems really started to happen. She gave the computer to me to try to fix it and I started to notice a file named AXEL.DAV in EVERY folder that I opened on the computer. So I contacted HP for help... 
(what was I thinking??) And they kindly told me that I have the vbs_redlof.A virus on this computer and it had attached itself to the recovery partition on the computer. They said it was a virus that will just sit there until you try to run the recovery and then it goes crazy. They also said the only way to fix it is to PURCHASE the recovery disks from them and re-format the hard drive. Please tell me we really don't have to do all of this!!!! I have ran Mcafee virus scan, trend micro and spybot. I do have AVG installed but have not yet run a scan with that. I figured the less I did the better until I got some help. I am posting a copy of my Hijack This log and the Malware Bytes Log with this post. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks.......
