I have this issue where random audio bits just play unexpectedly. I'm not sure what is calling them. Audio snippets last about 5 seconds or so and may be from movies on my pc. Then again, sometimes they just sound like ad snippets. I've seen reference to andt.sys and indt2.sys files as being involved but have not found a solution. These files are resident in my System32 folder on Vista. I've nuked em in Safe Mode but they keep coming back. I managed to grab a Hijack log while a snippet was playing and attach same. Thanks folr any comments.

Hi pilsnermonkey,

When posting logs from Notepad, please make sure Format->Word Wrap is UN-checked - this makes your logs readable. Also, no need to use code-boxes, just paste the logs into the post - it's much easier to read them that way.

Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) to your Desktop (right-click the link, select Save Target As..., select your Desktop and press Save)
  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
  • When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
  • Make sure Format->Word Wrap is unchecked
  • Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and extra.txt in your reply

Once complete, please post both DSS logs, you won't need to produce a new HijackThis log as DSS produces one for you.
