I'm working on my mom's friend's computer which had lots of viruses and trojans on it. I think I got rid of them, but I want to make sure that everything is gone. Is there anything here that I should get rid of?

Hello Kelly ,

Welcome to the forum, you still have quite a mess going on. This is one heavily infected computer, I am amazed that it even starts up.

Lets do this.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
    (Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
  • Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

Internet Explorer is needed to run this program properly.
Download: DelDomains and save it to the desktop.
  • Close all open windows and your browser
  • Right Click DelDomains.inf and select > Install
  • Reboot your computer

Post the SDfix log and a New HJT log please

Sorry I didn't reply back to this sooner. I had posted on a couple different forums and got rid of a lot of the stuff that was in there. I had to give the tower back yesterday, so I can't work on it anymore. It is now able to go in the internet and it's running a lot faster. I put AVG Antivirus and Zonealarm on for her. Anyways, thank you for taking the time to look at my thread! :)

Your welcome Kelly, sorry we couldn't get to you sooner but we get somewhat swamped with logs. I will keep this thread open for you for about 2 weeks if you need to post back, if the thread is closed you can start a new topic and PM me with a heads up. Ken :)
