I think I got rid of most bad stuff but there is something that keeps appearing. Can anyone help/

Please download hoster from the link below.

http://www.funkytoad.com/download/hoster.zip

Open Hoster.exe.

Then click on "Restore Original Hosts"

Close program when complete.

Then do a virus scan here >>> Trend Micro

NEXT

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

Clcik on Start >> Run In the box type services.msc then hit (or click ok) In the name column in the next screeen look for AOL Instant Messenger (AOL Instant Messenger) Double Click it. In the dialouge box that pops up, check in the Path to executionable box. It should say: C:\WINDOWS\rofl.exe Thats how to be sure that it is the right one. Now, Stop to stop that rogue process. In the startup type box, change it to disabled. Click apply then ok. Close the services.msc window, reboot and post a new log please.

Voila! It's gone. :rofl:

The only problem I have with this computer now is that I cannot update windows. I go to windowsupdate.com and it keeps asking me to download an update program KB892130 which I already downloaded three or four times.

Could this be related to a hosts problem? Can you help me with this?

Any number of spyware/malware varieties mess with the windows registry and security settings, often Windows Update is affected. The best thing to do is to call Microsoft at the number below and tell them this PC was infected and now cannot upate. They will get you SP2 and hopefully the windows update issues resolved. That is what this toll free number (free service) is for!
