Hello,
I have had a problem ever since I tried to setup a World of Warcraft private server. I'm not sure, however, if it was this setting up of the private server or not that caused my computer to dysfunction. I no longer have a private server, nor did I have a working private server, set up on my computer. If anyone of you would like to know what tutorial I used, I used derangedtaco's tutorial on Youtube.com.
I was told to say that MrCharlie from SpyWare BeWare! Forums referred me here. He was also the guy who helped determine whether or not my HDD has viruses. His analysis was that it doesn't.
Here is my rig:
LG Multi Drive (DVD +/- CD +/-) IDE
Western Digital Caviar SE 250 GB, 3 Gb/s, 8 MB Cache, 7200 RPM
Samsung 2GB DDR2 RAM
OnePower 500W, 12+V @ 26A
Intel Pentium D 3.40GHz
GigaByte GA-945P-S3 Motherboard
PNY 8800GTX 768MB OC
Antec 900
Samsung SyncMaster 220WM
NETGEAR WG311v3 Wireless G PCI adapter
Comcast Broadband
Belkin G Wireless Router
As I stated before, the problem seemed to occur after I tried to setup my own WoW private server. Yet, I haven't described the problem. The problem is that when I play Team Fortress 2 or COD4, my graphics will stutter and lag. My ping will be around 100. My ping was before then usually around 60. When workload increases, it seems to exacerbate the problem: my ping increases and the graphic stuttering become more frequent.
It seems, however, that this problem does not occur when I play Age of Empires 3 online. I don't know why. Maybe it is because AOE3 is not such a graphic intensive game as TF2 or COD4.
I've tried updating my graphics card drivers, monitor drivers, wireless adapter drivers, etc. Nothing seems to fix the problem.
My last resort is reformatting my HDD, but I don't want to lose all the files that I have on my computer.
Any and all help is appreciated.
