[Resolved] Antispykit infection

:woot: Spyware infection with Hijack log attached - working slowley with Trend Micro to resolve - Flashing triangle with exclaimanation mark with baloon System alert:malware thrests. Antispykit, and two other programs pop up - any advise?

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop:

http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt

reboot computer and get HJT:

* Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
* Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
* By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
* Click on Install.
* It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
* Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
* Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
* Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" and Paste the entire contents of the log in your reply

post both logs.

📎hijackthisjr2_28.txt Thanks for the help - I ran the Malware software and removed 25 items and ran hijack this. My original problem was resolved by Micro Trend over a four day back and forth Hijack this with the right files identified and removed. thanks for the info. i see antimalwarebytes removed some stuff. hjt log looks ok.

Hijack this with the right files identified and removed.

hjt is a good tool but it dosn't show all malware.
always use a commercial or free anti-malware app, like you did (trend micro)


start HJT, click the "Scan" button. check the items below, close any open windows, then click "Fixed checked"

The files have been removed - Two additional issues have raised to issue and correction status if you have the time and patience-

HP printer photosmart 7350 - at start up error message "- RTL Unable to start driver for HPHipm11.exe(HPHipm11.exe) "
Have disabled RTL per HP and no improvement.

Retro Express.exe - common language runtime debugging services
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled
Processid=0x5e8(1512), Threadid=0x5f0(1520)
Click OK to terminate the application
Click Cancel to debug the application

I assume that both of these messages are related

hi, i dont think the msg are related at all. does your firewall have a process monitoring component? maybe the driver is not starting because its "not allowed" by the process monitor. only guessing, i have never used trend micro's suite. poke around and take a look. the 2nd msg looks like a app is having problems, maybe ok after a reboot? shelf life

your hjt log looks ok. you have antivirus, antimalware and a firewall. all good but no guarantee of a malware free computer.

Again - thanks for the weekend reply. I have tried some knowledge base repairs to the two items identified with no success - will continue the effort. Have updated Java and deleted all older copies. Updated to IE 7. Does it make sense to clean the Register with software? Is there a better approach to Maleware infection prevention? Thanks for all the help - Jim

no need too. registry bloat isn't a issue in XP. wont help computers preformance at all.

those two other issues: you should contact the manuf. about the issue. looks like you already have done so with HP

you should know some of the ways you might get malware. it dosnt matter how much security software you have installed or who made it.

Still working with Micto Trend (P_Cillin) and knowledge bases to resolve the other issues. Your help and information is very appreciated and I am slowley going throught it.
