Hi Folks, I'm here because I can't stop a radio station from playing on my PC. It starts up every hour or so and stops after about 3 minutes. I can't find a way to stop it so I thought I'd come here for help. I get this radio station playing regardless of whether I am connected to the internet or not. I have no wireless connection. This problem began about three days ago I got hit by a trojan(s). I tried to clean my PC using ESET,House Call and SuperAntiSpyware. Each removed trojans in their scans. I didn't catch the name of the trojan removed by ESET and House Call but SuperAntispyware removed a trojan called Shopica. I wasn't surprised to see shopica in the scan results since I had just started getting Shopica popups on my desktop. Today I ran SpyCatcher and it caught even more, specifically it caught; DotCom Toolbar EliteBar GetMirar MediaMotor VirusRanger WhenU Save WinAntiSpyware I'm assuming SpyCatcher is a reputable program. Here is my ESET scan log: # version=4 # OnlineScanner.ocx=1.0.0.635 # OnlineScannerDLLA.dll=1, 0, 0, 79 # OnlineScannerDLLW.dll=1, 0, 0, 78 # OnlineScannerUninstaller.exe=1, 0, 0, 49 # vers_standard_module=2896 (20080222) # vers_arch_module=1.064 (20080214) # vers_adv_heur_module=1.064 (20070717) # EOSSerial=8008bfe0998f0a4abc98011ed7889998 # end=finished # remove_checked=true # unwanted_checked=true # utc_time=2008-02-22 08:38:26 # local_time=2008-02-22 12:38:26 (-0800, Pacific Standard Time) # country="United States" # osver=5.1.2600 NT Service Pack 2 # scanned=217467 # found=6 # scan_time=1452 C:\Documents and Settings\David\Desktop\AVIMoviePlayer51.exe probably a variant of Win32/Adware.Agent application (deleted) 00000000000000000000000000000000 C:\Documents and Settings\David\Desktop\AVIMoviePlayer51.exe »NSIS »xmljacodec.dll probably a variant of Win32/Adware.Agent application (error while cleaning - operation unavailable for this type of object - error while deleting - operation unavailable for this type of object - was a part of the deleted object) 00000000000000000000000000000000 C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\readme.bat probably a variant of Win32/Agent trojan (unable to clean - deleted) 00000000000000000000000000000000 C:\System Volume Information\_restore{71FBB03C-4166-4AC6-AE60-DCFFF778A253}\RP331\A0041425.exe probably a variant of Win32/Adware.Agent application (deleted) 00000000000000000000000000000000 C:\System Volume Information\_restore{71FBB03C-4166-4AC6-AE60-DCFFF778A253}\RP331\A0041425.exe »NSIS »xmljacodec.dll probably a variant of Win32/Adware.Agent application (error while cleaning - operation unavailable for this type of object - error while deleting - operation unavailable for this type of object - was a part of the deleted object) 00000000000000000000000000000000 C:\System Volume Information\_restore{71FBB03C-4166-4AC6-AE60-DCFFF778A253}\RP331\A0041426.bat probably a variant of Win32/Agent trojan (unable to clean - deleted) 00000000000000000000000000000000 I am modestly able to read HI Jack This logs and as far as I can tell my log is clean. I'm not sure though I am highly suspicious that this radio station is related to the trojans removed from my PC. Any help appreciated Thanks so much
hi, interesting if its malware related. cut your speaker wires, just kidding. if you have a cable modem you are connected to the internet, even if your not online. you could try bring up task manager (crtl-alt-delete)when it plays and when its not to see if any process is showing or get sysinternals process explorer. you should also check windows task scheduler to see if its been added in there. you could uninstall all media players, then reinstall them. post a hjt log if you want and a uninstall list. uninstall list: start hjt click on "open misc tools section" then "open uninstall manager" then on "save list" save the list somewhere and copy/paste it in next reply
