Hi there, I am working on a ESys machine and really don't want to resort to formatting as the drivers are not easy to aquire. When logging in the os grinds to a halt and when looking in task manager/performance the processor is at 100% usage. It is virtually impossible to use the system. I can boot into safemode just fine and the system runs perfectly without any strain on the processor, toddling along at about 8% use….I have run all anti-spyware programs, AVG, AVGAS and ATF. I'm not certain this is a malware problem…. If anyone has any ideas please let me know…… ps. Have tested for the HD transfer more to check it was DMA and not set to PIO. Thanks Gold
When in Task Manager, does it show which program is hogging the resources? These are all enhanced Task Managers that will tell you what is running. Each is nice in its own way. What's Running is probably the easiest, with AutoRuns for the more experienced.

You might also go into each application that starts with Windows, and disable the option to start with Windows. Then see how it boots.

Also, make sure you do not have any Device Manager errors. Finally, make sure you are not mapping to any networked drives during boot.
