:: AT WORK ::

I notice that in a lot of cases HJT has to have its file name changed to escape detection by some versions of the Trojan.Vundo virus, since i was and may still be infected with the Trojan.Vundo, should i have done so aswell ?

Nope.
Used to do that for the simple reason that vundo hides certain files from HJT. But also now is the fact that when these files are missing and a victim as yourself complains of certain things we are clued into what is wrong.

Look at your first HJT log done in normal mode.
Notice the absence of 02 and 020 lines?
Then we ran comboFix which targets vundo.
Now we can see the 02 and 020 lines.
But as I said this is a fairly new variety of this stinker. So I want to ask the question as I said so we only have to do this all once.
Better safe than sorry.
Have a bit of faith..Vundo will go :wavey: :wavey: .
I am home now, getting some food and ready for another round of virus hunt, in all honesty, I am really surprised that Symantech has not managed to prepare one of its miracle Fix it tools, i tried their Fix.Vundo.exe and it cleared very little, most of which had returned after.

HJT for the day, some missing files, all unknown to me

In your next reply I would like to see:
  • A new HJT log
  • The report from ComboFix
  • The report from Kasperskys
  • The report from Jottis/Virus total
Kaspersky crashes my computer at the same point trough every scan, it reaches 30000 or so files and then it crashes, something doesnt want to be found, badly im guessing.

Combofix script was paused after restart by norton anti virus, i had to allow it, hope that did not interfere.

Scan process completed.

EDIT #2: I'm runin KAV online one scan at a time, so far:

Memory / Running Processes scan came out Green / Clear

Document and Settings folder crashed computer during scan. Scanning one folder at a time to isolate issue.

EDIT #3:

I kept an eye on my system stats in Task Manager and System Cache always runs over Available physical memory while scanning with KAV online, is that ok ?, because thats about the time when the system crashes.
Sorry for the delay something very unexpected came up and I had to deal with it. I'm still dealing with it but should now be able to check on this a few times today. Hopefully we can finish it.
