i ran a scan with hijackthis.
Other notes. The display properties dialogue box has only two tabs (screensaver and settings) in it. The context menus for the C;drive and my external that i used to get hijack this onto (this is a laptop) show up with wierd characters where the open and explore items should be - Can not open the drives by double clicking, have to access them throuh the explorer.
The graphics setting were set to 8 bit color, and the sound was not working. -- i reset the color to 32 bit and the sound started working after installing and running AVG.
Thats about it there.... Here is the hijack this log before the AVG scan which is currently running.
