I have been trying to remove adware/spyware from my computer. I have tried at least 4 different programs, most of which have identified the problems but have not been able to remove anything (the last search showed core adware and Troj/Virtum-Gen). Now, I have downloaded Combofix.exe to run a scan to get started -- this froze my machine and now I have attempted to reboot and I get a blue screen that says: "STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure} The registry cannot load the hive (file): \SystemRoot\System32\Config\DEFAULT or its log or alternate. It is corrupt, absent, or not writable. Beginning dump of physical memory Physical memory dump complete. Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance." I cannot start in Safe Mode or any other option it gives me. Help!
