I know, it's another log on the forums, but I'm hoping that one of you can help me out with my computer before finals hit! It is running close to 100% of CPU usage when it normally runs about 35~40% and was hoping ya'll could help me. Thanks so much in advance, Derek

Welcome to What The Tech. Sorry if there was a delay, it's a busy forum.

After some of these uninstalls your computer may prompt you to restart, if this happens choose No and continue with the rest of the uninstallations. If after an uninstall your computer is restarted by itself make sure you reboot back into Normal Mode until you have finished uninstalling all these programs. Also don't be alarmed if any of these aren't displayed.

Click on the Windows Start button in the left hand corner of your screen.
Go to Control Panel
Double click on Add or Remove Programs and uninstall:
Anything starting with Starware
MediaPipe
Notification Utility
p2pnetworks

Optional
You have MyWebSearch installed. Although not technically malware, it is thought to be bad by many experts and it will bring malware with it. There are safer alternatives available such as the Yahoo toolbar. I highly recommend you uninstall it. If you want to do so, please also uninstall:
Anything that includes MyWebSearch

You have Weatherbug installed. It is considered adware and displays pop ups and used to install My Search toolbar. A possible alternative to WeatherBug is Weatherpulse. For more information on WeatherPulse have a look at this site. I highly recommend you uninstall it. If you want to do so, please also uninstall:
WeatherBug

Using Windows Explorer, please delete these folders listed below in bold(if present)
C:\Program Files\Starware316 <---- This folder
C:\Program Files\License_Manager <---- This folder

If you chose to uninstall these programs please also delete their folders
MyWebSearch
C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch <---- This folder
C:\Program Files\MyWebSearchWB <---- This folder
WeatherBug
C:\Program Files\AWS <---- This folder

Now please a new HijackThis(HJT) log, also let me know how your computer is running now.

I don't see any evidence of a firewall in your log. Are you using Windows Firewall? If you're not sure please follow these instructions:
Click on the Windows Start button in the left hand corner of your screen.
Go to Control Panel or settings Control Panel
Double click on Windows Firewall
The two main options are On and Off. Tell me whether there's a checkmark next to On or Off.

Logs to include in your reply
