Hi

I have a 4MB Internet connection and my anti-virus is AVG 7.5. My computer works as normal, however when I connect to the Internet using Mozilla Firefox I have to wait a lot longer than normal for pages to be loaded compared to a few weeks ago. I compare it to a dial-up connection it's that bad. I've scanned my computer using AVG but didn't find anything, I also used the online virus scanner from Trend-Micro but still didn't find a thing. In addition I have used Ad-Aware SE Personal edition but to no avail.

This is my Hijackthis log:

Howdy paul_g,

Welcome to WTT. No infection showing here, so not real sure why the FF slowdown you are having. Perhaps you are might not be getting it's temp storage locations all cleared out regularly? Let's do a procedure that will address that anyway, and take a different look here as well.

Go Here and download ATF cleaner. Click on the downloaded file to run it, and select "Select All", then click Empty Selected (and close ATF).

If you have them, also click on Firefox/Opera at the top and repeat the steps (and close ATF). Firefox/Opera will need to be closed first for the cleaning to be effective.

Also Go Here and download Silent Runners to your desktop. Run it, and post back here the log it creates. If your AV queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious. It will create a file named Startup Programs, and will notify when the scan is complete. Copy the log from the Startup Programs file back here.
Go ahead and post the log here in your request thread for review. Too much room for missing things trying to go back and forth between a downloaded log and internet information resources.

Only an orphaned McAfee browser object we can remove now, but nothing that would suggest problems with Firefox or anything else amiss. Not much to even suggest other than being sure FF's temp folders are cleaned out, as this would impact net use. But if ATF Cleaner did little in that area then you may have to post a new request at the WTT Browsers, Internet & Email forum for more ideas.
