My computer is having some pretty bad issues. I have fixed mine and my families computers in the past when I have had virus and spyware issues, but this one is way beyond me. It happened when I downloaded a cd burning software from a website that was obviously not reputable. It pulled up a command prompt and everything went bad from there.
It started loading all sorts of stuff. When I rebooted it gives me a logonui.exe error before it pulls up the username/password screen (it used to just log me in), then once I do get it none of my icons or my start bar ever appear no matter how long I wait. It then starts to pull various errors especially with the "Data Execution Prevention". The main one is "userinit login application"and if I try to pull up the task manager the DEP stops it. I have seen it pull errors for spoolsvc and something like rundll32.
Even in service mode my start bar and icons don't pull up. The only way I can do anything is with the "new task" within task manager. Please help, I am half tempted to reinstall, but I have an OEM copy which came wiht my laptop and have heard this can be a problem.
Thanks in advance!
