Howdy bluepanic,

Welcome to WTT. No outright infection showing, but the system does appear to have a startup from a KMiNT21 Personal Inspector software showing. Would you know why this is loaded and who might have installed it? Always a odd issue for me when a software suggests installation by someone with physical access to the system, as it often goes beyond some normal malware removal procedures. And for these purchased softwares, are difficult to remove without the passworded access. As a note your system also shows a McAfee anti-malware services but I only see AVG as a running process. Was McAfee uninstalled at some point here?

HijackThis shows the McAfee service files as missing, which added to your statement you did uninstall McAfee suggests we can remove these as remnants. Which may improve issues there. A question would be who installed that Inspector software on this system, as they have not only the password for the uninstall, but can just reinstall another copy next opportunity they get. Since these are legal software normal anti-spyware scanners do not target their installation functions/files.

Go to Start > Run and type

cmd

and OK. Type the below commands and hit "Enter" after each line

sc stop McDetect.exe
sc delete McDetect.exe
sc stop McTskshd.exe
sc delete McTskshd.exe
sc stop mcupdmgr.exe
sc delete mcupdmgr.exe

Type Exit to close. You may get some errors if the services are already stopped, but continue until you have done all steps as posted.
