Hello,

I was doing my regular scans with AVG Free, Ad-Aware and Spybot, and had an entry called "Virtumonde.generic" pop up in the Spybot results (0 bad results on either of the others). A quick Google on it told me it can be very difficult to get rid of, so I thought it better left to people who understand more about it. Thank you in advance for your help. :)

Hi

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you
will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.sub.../Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingc.../Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make
sure Run fixit is checked and click Finish. The fix will
begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer;
please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is
normal.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post a fresh HijackThis log, along with the contents of
the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt
