Good morning

Recently infected with Adware Virtumonde so I ran Spybot and AVG Antivirus with no success. Installed Avg Anti-spyware and it identifies the problem spyware but doesn't fix it. Cleaning or quarantining the infected file doesn't work. I continue to get unwanted pop-ups. Any help would be appreciated.

I work a graveyard shift so my responses will likely be in the early morning or late afternoon.

Here is my hijack log.

Hi and welcome to the forums. :) I'm Markka and I will be helping you with your malware issues. I'll check your HijackThis log. Right now I'm MRU Undergrad, everything that I post to you must be checked by teachers of Malware Removal University. Please be patient. :)
Just to add AVG spyware keeps identifing the following: C;\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WVUTSSR.DLL is infected but it won't let me clean or quarantine it.
Hello :)

  • Navigate to here; C:\Program Files\Hijackthis
  • Right-click on the HijackThis.exe
  • Choose from the pull-down menu; "Rename"
  • And now Rename HijackThis.exe to Scanner.exe
  • When you're renamed HijackThis, then open it..
  • Take a fresh HijackThis log (Do a system scan and save a log file)
  • Post a fresh HijackThis log to here.
Here is the new log:

Markka… I have to head to work, now but will be available 7:30 a.m. or around 4 p.m. tom. (M.S.T.) I'll check in the morning and follow any directions you post otherwise. Here's hoping we can connect amd thanks again.
Just an update I ran ATF cleaner and Vundofix this morning. The alert by AVG spyware ( C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WVUTSSR.DLL) doesn't show up anymore. Currently running a new scan with Spybot. Also ran Smitfraud fix in Safe mode I have the log for that saved if needed.
Hello :)

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.
here are the logs:

Hi Markka Did as you suggested except that right clicking on my computer icon didn't allow me to turn off system retore. I had to go to control panel, then system to access it. Rebooted as you suggested. Is that good enough? If not let me know. I no longer have popups and computer seems to be running fine otherwise. Many Thanks.
