Until yesterday I have been running the new updated version 2.0 (1.0.01) 793KB of HighjackThis with no problems.
However, when I went to run it yesterday by request from a Tech Teacher here on this site, it stated it had a virus and would I like to put it in the vault. (This happened on both my PC and Laptop) Of course I said yes but it put not only the virus in the vault but also the HJT software. After downloading the updated v2.0 and putting both antivirus and antispyware programs over the download, a virus does not show up.
I have now reverted back to HJT [removed] 213KB.
This was suggested to be a false positive, but as the HJT software is transferred to the vault, it is not possible to run the newer version.
I have a clean computer, running Anti-spyware and Anti-virus software daily.
Tallin,
You communicated to me that you were having trouble with running HJT and that you were receiving HJT help in another forum.
I recommended that you run a fresh HJT and post it to that other Forum to continue receiving assistance there.
Please remember that we do not provide HJT analysis nor recommendations here in Software Tech, Hardware Tech, nor in OCP.
And please remember that if you are already receiving HJT assistance from a qualified Expert in a Forum, that you should follow that Expert Advisor"s recommendations to completion and NOT begin requesting assistance about the same log in a second Forum.
__________
With regard to the specific issue you describe in this present posted topic, (of a virus alert when running HJT) please post that information to the attention of the qualified HJT Expert that you are presently working with.
Best Regards,
Doug
