Hi...
I've run some scans already and there is a backdoor.win32.bifrose.aci
and a Trojan-downloader win32.agent.bkd (i didn't case sensitize sorry)
on my computer. Detected by Kaspersky. I deleted some emails that were
causing trouble and didn't know it. Adaware with latest upgrades.
And last time something happened someone (i think here) told me
that mcafee had way too many updates. (I will reinstall another addition of
something after I'm fixed.)

Anyway...here's my hijack log.....there is this virusprotectpro that keeps popping
up and is on my system tray and ballons saying system alert blah blah. Well, *they* are the bug I can't seem to get them off of me.

Help please?

Thanks
Z...

Download ATF Cleaner instructions here.

Download AVG Anti-Spyware Instructions and download link can be found here.
Update it but DO NOT run a scan just yet, we will run the scan later.

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.
http://siri.urz.free...mitfraudFix.zip
Extract all the files to your Destop. A folder named SmitfraudFix will be created on your Desktop.

Posted Image

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter

Posted Image

This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works.
It will create a file named: c:\rapport.txt
Please post the C:\rapport.txt in your next reply

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Warning: running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background.

Print out or copy these instructions/tutorial to Notepad as the internet will not be (while in Safe Mode) available to you at certain points of the removal process. Make sure to work through all the Steps in the exact order in which they are listed below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before moving on with the fixes.

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode. Instructions here if needed.

Open the SmitfraudFix Folder, then double-click smitfraudfix.cmd file to start the tool.
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press Enter.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.
You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?" answer Yes by typing Y and hit Enter.

Posted Image

The tool will also check if wininet.dll is infected. If a clean version is found, you will be prompted to replace wininet.dll. Answer Yes to the question "Replace infected file ?" by typing Y and hit Enter.

A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process, if you computer does not restart automatically please do it yourself manually. Reboot in Safe Mode.

The tool will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Run ATF Cleaner

Close ALL open Windows / Programs / Folders. Please start AVG Anti-Spyware, and run a full scan.

programs while AVG Anti-Spyware is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning proccess.
  • Lauch AVG Anti-Spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
  • Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab
then click on "Complete System Scan".
  • ewido will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little
    time.
Once the scan is complete do the following:
  • If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all
    actions
    "
  • Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
  • Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the
screen and save it as a text file on your Desktop (make sure to remember where you saved that file).
Close AVG Anti-Spyware and Reboot in Normal Mode.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #3 - Delete Trusted zone by typing 3 and press Enter
Answer Yes to the question "Restore Trusted Zone ?" by typing
Y and hit Enter.

Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.

Then post:
1.c:rapport.txt
2.AVG Anti-Spyware log
3.A new HijackThis log

Your may need several replies to post the requested logs, otherwise they might get cut off.

Might want to remove this C:\Program Files\Paltalk Messenger\

Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following, making sure you get them all and not any others by mistake:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Reboot and rescan with HiJackThis and post a new log here.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

 Sorry wrong forum please give me a second.

 well that ^ was kinda scarey (as I saw we were both perusing the post at the same time)

 hope that I didn't subconsiously ruin your focus.......

but anyways........
I never used that blippin Ptalk mess thing anyway (it was put on by my ex...don't even wanna think about it)
errr.....
deleted those two files and quite frankly I haven't reinstalled 'mclaughatme' security (it's free with comcast)...
so I'm a little scared to be on line too long........
but......no popups as of yet from those vermansthatwannaprotectme.......

here's the log.......
thanks a bunch......
and thanks to the junior member who told me about the pinned post (similar to what you had me do), which i did look at
just moments before he posted telling me about it and soothed me and my impatience with the panic I had when my post went to the bottom of page 2 in less than 48 hours, I thought I would get lost in all the work you people do helping.

So, anyway, when I started with it and it wiped out my recycle bin I got scared and stopped acting like i knew something. so kudos to him he was on the right track and I just can't tell you *ALL* how much I really really really truly appreciate your here when needed. Even if it's not said all the time cause the computer is fixed and we'all get busy again.

p.s. is VMWARE problematic? I think I disabled most of it and there is just so much tech stuff on here I'm afraid to delete anything with the odd chance it would delete some file I do use. Also, I have Acronis True Image but it takes up a large amt of my C drive, so, if I can ask just one more teensy thing? Is it ok to backup with that and go over what I already have as the backup? If that doesn't make sense, well then, nevermind.

p.s. is VMWARE problematic?

If you don't use it you can remove it in add and remove programs.

If I understand you right I'm not sure as I don't use the program. But I don't think that it would hurt.
